Dr. Camille Tyson Jacobs is a progressive educator, researcher, and restorative thought leader with nearly two decades of experience in education leadership. A former school administrator, she has firsthand experience transitioning from traditional, hierarchical models to restorative leadership—emphasizing accountability, care, and human connection.
Her research on restorative leadership explores how school leaders cultivate inclusive, responsive, and justice-centered environments. With deep expertise in implementing restorative approaches across school systems, Dr. Tyson Jacobs’ work provides a foundation for understanding how these practices reshape leadership behaviors, organizational culture, and school communities.
Throughout her career, Dr. Tyson Jacobs has been dedicated to nurturing leadership potential, fostering environments where restorative practices can thrive, and guiding leaders to integrate restorative principles into their daily work. As a 9/11 survivor, she understands resilience not just as a leadership skill but as a way of life. Her lived experience, shaped by moments of adversity and transformation, has informed her belief in the power of human connection and the necessity of restorative approaches in leadership. Dr. Tyson Jacobs is committed to transforming communities by addressing the root causes of conflict and empowering leaders to lead with compassion, reflection, and conviction.
Dr. Tyson Jacobs holds a Ph.D. in Ethical and Creative Leadership from Antioch University's Graduate School of Leadership and Change, a Master’s in Education and School Administration from Cambridge College, a Master of Arts in Media Studies from Queens College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television Production from SUNY New Paltz. She has also completed advanced studies in coaching, executive leadership, and restorative practices. As a "merchant of hope," Dr. Tyson Jacobs continues to drive meaningful change through restorative leadership, aiming to empower leaders across all sectors to champion equity, reform, and societal transformation.
