Breaking through barriers with play - Restorative Teaching Tools 3-day Training Hosted by Lindsey Pointer and Kathleen McGoey

6/16/2025 - 6/17/2025

Description

Hosted by Lindsey Pointer and Kathleen McGoey

Please join us for the Restorative Teaching Tools Training this summer, June 16-20 in Loveland, Colorado!

Following the theme of "playing through barriers," we will come together to explore how we use play as an avenue to overcome barriers and achieve our dreams. For communities, how can play help folks come together to overcome differences that have become barriers to their collective vision? For teachers and trainers, how can play facilitate learning that helps students move past limitations or challenges and integrate new skills and concepts?

The training will be a space of learning while providing time for reflection, integration, and connection with nature. We will co-create a nurturing retreat-like experience supported by connection through play.

Along with Kathleen McGoey and Lindsey Pointer, Gilbert Salazar (Colorizing Restorative Justice author) and Erica Lee will be part of the team who will be sharing their brilliance at this training!

Please spread the word with anyone you think may be interested -  we ask that training participants have a foundational understanding of restorative justice and restorative practices. Registration deadline is April 24.

*About the image in our training flyer: A huge shoutout of appreciation to the talented Jamelah Zidan for helping us design the beautiful dandelion image above! In adrienne maree brown's Emergent Strategy, dandelions symbolize resilience, resistance, and the ability to thrive in unexpected places, representing a strategy of adapting and persisting in the face of adversity.

Prerequisite: We request that training participants have a foundational understanding and experience with restorative justice and restorative practices prior to participating in this training. The focus of this course is learning to facilitate activities to teach restorative principles and skills. Therefore, a preexisting knowledge of restorative justice principles and practice is necessary.
