Motus Playback Theater Presents: Stories of Your Family Rooting in Erie Hosted by Motus Theatre

Saturday, October 24, 2026 (7:00 PM - 9:00 PM) (MDT)

Description

Hosted by Motus Theatre

What does it mean to find a sense of home, in a place, in a community, in the land itself?

Join Motus Playback Theater for an evening of live, interactive storytelling that invites Erie residents to reflect on the moments when they first felt rooted in the community and land of Erie, CO. As Colorado marks its 150th anniversary, this gathering offers a meaningful opportunity to honor the personal and collective journeys that shape Erie today.

Audience members are invited to share their own reflections about finding home, whether through family, migration, memory, or belonging in Erie. Stories can be from a long time ago, from across generations, or recent.

Each story is brought to life in the moment by the Motus Playback Ensemble, whose improvisational actors and musicians transform lived experiences into powerful, unscripted theater. What emerges is often surprising, moving, and deeply connective.

After the performance, stay for tea and cookies as conversations continue and new connections take root.

This family-friendly event welcomes ages 10 to 100 and offers a rare chance to celebrate Colorado’s sesquicentennial not just through history, but through the living stories that continue to shape our shared future.
