Description

Hosted by National Center for Restorative Justice (NC4RJ)

Implementing Restorative Justice. 2 Day Intensive. Join us August 24th and 25th. 8:00am-3:30pm. This complements the Restorative Practices course and grants participants Level 2 Certification.

We will focus on Facilitation skills. While working in small groups participants will gather skills and put those skills into practice while facilitating. This course focuses on multi-author conferences and restorative confernces. Skills that are covered include introductions, listening, rephrasing, interrupting when needed, silence, patience, and more. In addition to facilitation of restorative conferences we will spend time learning and discussing trauma informed practices. We will also dive deeper into racial equity and cultural competency. We are able to spend more time with this topic throughout the course. We’ll answer why RJ is an appropriate tool for addressing equity issues. While we start with race, the tools of the equity lens apply to other disadvantaged groups and will help structure numerous conversations (race, gender identity, sexual orientation, class).

Lunch is provided, we will send out a survey for any food restrictions 30 days prior to the event.

This will be lead by Nicholas Bradford, Founder and other guest instructors. Click here to learn more.
