Rooted Practice: A Path to Becoming a Restorative Lawyer is an immersive CLE retreat for lawyers and legal professionals seeking a more grounded, sustainable, and relationship-centered approach to practice. Held in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, this unique experience combines restorative lawyering, experiential learning, lawyer well-being, and community connection. Inspired by Brenda Waugh’s book, Becoming a Restorative Lawyer: How to Transform Your Legal Practice for Self, Client, and Community Growth, the retreat offers space for reflection, renewal, and a transformative vision for the future of legal practice.
Location Details: The location for this retreat is in the mountains of West Virginia. Greenbrier Valley Airport (Lewisburg, WV) – The closest commercial airport, approximately 55 miles from Slaty Fork (about a 1–1.25 hour drive). This is typically the most convenient option and offers limited regional flight service. For those who would enjoy a drive in the mountains, the venue is about 4-5 hours from Dulles International Airport.

The cost is $995.00
The fee includes lodging for two nights, meals Thursday evening, Friday, and Saturday through lunch and continuing education credits.
The primary portion of the retreat begins with dinner on June 18, 2026 and concludes following lunch on June 20, 2026. Two lunch-time webinars will be held before and following the retreat.
